Our assistant coach Vitor Matos is using a diary to provide glimpses behind the scenes of our training camp in Saalfelden.
In his fifth daily entry, the 36-year-old Portuguese coach looked back on a relatively quiet day ahead of the clash against Sparta Prague.

Dear FC Red Bull Salzburg fans,
One of our goals in the training camp is also to create routines. With small details, we can generate individual consistency for the players.
In this context, today we did our -1 routine. We started the day with our opposition meeting for preparing for the friendly match tomorrow, and we went straight after that into the training session! It was a brilliant training session, with everyone completely concentrated and with full energy.
The session unfortunately needed to end earlier than planned because of an approaching thunderstorm… today we needed another Christian Fail incorrect forecast [see day three], but he didn’t give us any update regarding the weather.
We had a rest in the afternoon that was much needed for everyone! Tomorrow we have the match against Sparta Prague, which is another important moment for us to keep developing in order to get ready for our first competitive game of the season!
Des is Soizburg! That is our way!
Until tomorrow,
Vitor Matos
