With a 2-1 win in the final against Nigeria, Ivory Coast won the 2024 AFCON – in their own country! Sabastien Haller sent the Ivorian fans wild with his winner in the 81st minute. After 1992 and 2015, it is the third time Les Elephants have won the tournament.
Karim Konate made three substitute appearances during the AFCON but wasn't in the matchday squad for the final. That should not detract from the celebrations in any way, however. Our young attacker will be heading back to Salzburg soon to join up with our Red Bulls in the coming days.
