Albert Vallci joins FC St. Gallen

Moves to Switzerland

Albert Vallci is leaving our Red Bulls after around three-and-a-half years! The 27-year-old has made a permanent move to FC St. Gallen 1879 in Switzerland, for whom he has signed a three-year contract.

The tall defender came in January 2019 to Salzburg from Wacker Innsbruck and made 59 appearances here (scoring five goals and providing seven assists) and won four league titles and four cups. At FC St. Gallen, who are currently second in the Swiss Super League, the Austrian is to play together with our loanee Daouda Guindo, under Peter Zeidler, who coached our boys in 2015.

Albert settled in really quickly with us after moving from Innsbruck in 2019, and became an important part of our team with his open and positive manner. He won four league titles and four cups with us, and also played in the Champions League. Albert has battled with a serious injury over the last 18 months, unfortunately, and was unable to play too much. He is fully fit again and really wants to play every week, which makes this move a logical one. We wish Bertl all the very best for the rest of his career and would like to say thank you for a successful and wonderful time together!

Sporting director Christoph Freund

The move to FC Red Bull Salzburg was a big step in my career, and I enjoyed lots of extraordinary experiences here. It's now time to look for new challenges, and I have found these with FC St. Gallen. I would like to thank everyone here at the club, my team-mates, the staff and all the fans for an awesome time, and I wish the Red Bulls the very best for the future!
