While he might be seen in his usual role between the posts for the Austrian national team this evening, our goalkeeper Alexander Schlager recently tried a very different kind of challenge. The 27-year-old, who is a keen golfer, challenged professional golfer and SalzburgerLand ambassador Matthias Schwab to a game.
After a friendly round with a few decent drives in our stadium, the pair then conducted a double interview. This can be seen in the latest edition of Perfect Eagle magazine. The pair spoke about their connections to Salzburger Land, the similarities between football and golf as well as their paths to the top in sport.
I regularly play golf in Eugendorf with my brother. A golf day with Matthias Schwab will be the highlight of my golf career so far.
