Our hopes that the injury to Samson Tijani would prove to be less serious than expected have been dashed. The 20-year-old midfielder suffered a tibia and fibula fracture in yesterday's friendly match against Feyenoord, which has ruled him out of action for at least the rest of the year. The huge talent, who has already represented Nigeria, has undergone an operation and has a long road to recovery ahead.
