How the FIFA Club World Cup draw works

From 19:00 CET on Thursday on live stream

We simply cannot wait for Thursday evening, when we will have the draw for the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup! From 19:00 CET we will find out who our opponents are at the big tournament in the USA.

We will broadcast a free live stream of the ceremony on our website. Here are the key details.

Process, rules and more

The draw is taking place in Miami – where the opening match of the tournament takes place on 15 June 2025. Just like in a regular FIFA World Cup, all 32 qualified teams will be divided into eight groups of four, with the top two qualifying for the knockout stages. The key facts on the draw:

  • Teams are divided into two pots, and we are in pot two.
  • One team from each pot will feature in each group.
  • Teams from one country cannot face one another in the group stage.
  • Teams from the same confederation cannot be in the same group, apart from UEFA, with two teams per group possible.
  • It is already confirmed we will face one of the four UEFA teams from Pot 1.
