Successful AFCON start for Karim Konate & Co

2-0 home win to open tournament

Karim Konate made a fantastic start to the 2024 African Cup of Nations for the hosts, Ivory Coast. The Ivorians beat Guinea-Bissau 2-0, with our 19-year-old attacker coming on in the 62nd minute. The two goals had already been scored when he entered the field. 

On Thursday 18 January (18:00 CET), Ivory Coast have their next test with a clash against Nigeria. The end of the group stage follows on Monday 22 January (18:00) against Equatorial Guinea.

Sekou Koita and Dorgeles Nene are to start the tournament on Tuesday 16 January (21:00 CET) against South Africa. Further group stage matches follow for Mali against Tunesia on Saturday 20 January (21:00) and Namibia on Wednesday 24 January (18:00 CET).
