A glance at #LigaZwa, our youngsters and Brazilians

We are using the international break to take a glance at FC Liefering, our co-operation partners – as well as our other Austrian youngsters and those abroad. Time to take a journey to St. Pölten, Ried and Sao Paulo!

FC Liefering

After a difficult first half of the season in #LigaZwa, Ingolitsch's Liefering XI have made a sensational restart after the winter break. Wins over Vienna, Amstetten and Horn have helped FC Liefering into mid-table in the Austrian second tier. Particularly impressive has been speedy strike star Karim Konate, who scored a hat-trick. Only leaders St. Pölten stopped their winning run, but their upwards momentum continues.

All well at the academy

11, 13 and 6 – that's not a lottery draw, it's the number of points our Red Bull Academy teams have over the respective teams second in the table! All in all, the Young Bulls have won 40 out of 47 matches this season and have lost just three. The U15 side are to start the business end of their season on Saturday against bottom of the table Ried. One person in particular will hope to score goals - U15 striker Dominik Dobis, who only turned 14 in January, has smashed in 25 strikes in just 13 appearances. The U15 Austrian international is therefore the top goalscorer out of all the key Austrian youth leagues.

Making a name in South America

The youngsters born in 2006 and 2007 took part in the FAM Cup Sub-17 tournament hosted by Palmeiras Sao Paulo in Brazil. The chance to test themselves against opposition from around the world was worth its weight in gold for the development of our boys and an important experience for every individual - not least because our youngsters got a taste of success there, winning the so-called silver round. Alessandro Ciardi also made a great start - the 16-year-old moved from Inter Milan to Salzburg in January and was able to win the trophy in Brazil for top scorer!
