The past few days have not just seen us get back to our Taxham training base after our training camp, but have also marked the return of some of our players. Nico Mantl, Roko Simic and Ignace Van der Brempt are training under Matthias Jaissle again after the European U21 championship, along with Sekou Koita.
Bernardo is also back in Salzburg but is training individually away from the rest of the squad due to his prior lack of training. We are delighted to see Noah Okafor and Fernando back in action and kicking a ball again after their respective injury breaks.
Our coach is still without Oscar Gloukh, who made it to the semi-finals of the U21 Euros with Israel as well as Mamady Diambou (who gained third place in the U23 AFCON). The pair of youngsters will link up again with us next week.
The players returning this week will be right back into the thick of things. This Saturday there is a pair of friendly matches against SV Hamburg (10:30 CET in Anif) and FC Slovacko (15:00 in Eugendorf). They are our final chance to fine tune before our first competitive match of the new season with the first round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup.
