Hat-trick – Philipp Köhn has won his third player of the month trophy, and there is no doubt he deserved it! He took over 14,000 votes and had a close battle with Junior Adamu, but the Swiss shot stopper had a lead of 2,000 votes in the end.
The results:
Philipp Köhn (53 %)
In Philipp Köhn we trust! He had the game of his life against Chelsea (but had no chance of stopping the two goals). A few days beforehand, the Swiss shot stopper pulled off another series of stunning saves in the big match against Sturm Graz. Shall we mention the two Champions League clashes against Dinamo Zagreb? The same story again. Save after save in the way a lot of clubs can only dream of.
Junior Adamu (39 %)
He's one of our own, and he went into a frenzy of goalscoring form in October. With his hat-trick against Austria Vienna, a goal and an assist against Altach, as well as in the cup against Admira, plus a strike against Chelsea, Junior Adamu has rushed to the front of our goalscoring list. As impressive as the stats are, the 21-year-old has amazed us with his incredible application and helped us find our way back into the game in Zagreb after experiencing a difficult phase.
Strahinja Pavlovic (7 %)
Serbia has surely not seen such a defensive beast since the days of Nemanja Vidic. With his tacking ability and also his incredible battling spirit, Strahinja Pavlovic was a sheer colossus in October – and a role model for the whole team just months after his arrival in Salzburg. When it is needed, the 21-year-old also enjoys going on the attack at times.
Lucas Gourna-Douath (1 %)
An extraordinary mature player at the age of 19 and another new summer signing, he has now well and truly settled in. Lucas Gourna-Douath gives us not only stability in central defensive midfield, but also leads our attacks. His wonderful performance against Chelsea was a shining example of his abilities, as he won the most balls and played the most passes of any Red Bull.
