It is a little over three weeks since our last appearance, and our opening competitive match of the new season is also three weeks away - our UNIQA ÖFB Cup first round clash v SG Ardagger/Viehdorf.
Matthias Jaissle is leading us into a third season as head coach - and today gathered our boys together for the first time after their holidays to start training ahead of the 2023/24 season at our Taxham training base.
Taking part were our two new signings Petar Ratkov and Alexander Schlager as well as the returning Kilian Ludewig and Kamil Piatkowski. Also involved was Lukas Wallner, who has been promoted from the FC Liefering squad.
All our international players will join us in the near future after they are given some time for a break too.
On a perfect summer's day, our coach clearly did not want to push his side to the absolute limit just yet. It was mainly about giving our boys a chance to get a feeling for the ball again in various exercises.
The tempo is due to raise steadily in the coming days, however, as our first friendly match is ahead on Friday. Opponents will be Hungarian champions Ferencvaros (ticket info here), with kick-off at 18:00 CET in St. Johann im Pongau.
On Saturday, our team will then go on a week-long training camp in Brandlhof near Saalfelden. Should you want to come along to watch training there or in Taxham this week, you can find our schedule here:
We filmed the return to training - you can see the results here in the following RBS TV Clip:
